Hi, I’m Chelsea.
Allow me to introduce myself…
My name is Chelsea Fullilove. I grew up as the fourth child in a family of six children. My parents were missionaries: my mother was adopted, and my father was born in Pakistan. My paternal grandparents were also missionaries who emigrated to the Bronx, New York from England and Norway. My personal background has remained in missions and social work. I grew up as a missionary kid who moved to a new area every couple of years to help Christian churches establish projects to help underprivileged communities. My upbringing is fundamental to my resilience, empathy, and worldview. My ability to put others first, work hard, persevere and live passionately have been key aspects of my personality.
I began studying counseling in order to make use of my determination to help marginalized populations and instill resiliency in the next generation. All my experiences have laid the groundwork for my career in Counselor Education. I am currently attending Florida Gulf Coast University and studying clinical mental health counseling. This blog is a place for me to share some lessons that I’ve learned and to share helpful information for others as I journey through grad school and life.
